I'm a writer, artist and gamer who has been RPing and DMing since I was little across many MMOs, forums, and LARPs. I've dipped my toes into most things nerdy or craftsy one way or another. Torrjm has been my main since I started FFXIV in early 2021, and I do pretty much all PvE things except Savage content, but especially love RP, glams, and housing. I'm usually happy to jump in and help out other players in PvE content where I can. Feel free to reach out for clarification on anything you see here!
PREFERRED RP Interactive, advanced, mentally stimulating stuff, e.g. developing tight friendships, delving into character arcs and backstories, collaborative story arcs, and so on. I deeply prefer small groups of five or less (chatscroll blows up my brain) and especially love darker, grittier, gray-gray morality content. I'm cool with slice-of-life RP here and there or in the right context, but it's not my default — I just generally prefer RP with a bit more story and character depth. RP LOGISTICS Open to sporadic in-game RP, but I usually prefer to schedule it. In-game is preferred for acquaintances and for standard scenes; Discord is fine for established buddies or for specific or longer scenes, especially if portraying them in-game is a challenge due to scenery or NPCs, etc. I don't mind doing a single scene on Discord for weeks at a time if it's good stuff! MATURE CONTENT I have very few triggers. Most content is usually fine; no problem with gore, cursing, and most other heavy material so long as it serves a grounded purpose for happening. 21+ ONLY PLEASE I'm not interested in RP with players under 21 years of age usually due to a difference in experience and priorities (sorry!).
DON'T BE A DICK I believe strongly in "do-no-harm, take-no-shit." I want to surround myself with friendly people who have communication skills, self-awareness, and emotional maturity. I am neurodivergent, part of the LGBTIA+ community, have a career and limited availability, and am in a very happy monogamous marriage. I choose not to tolerate red flags I observe or experience that disrespect myself, my values, or those of my communities. ROMANTIC SAPPY JUNK Romantic angst and tension is my lifeblood. If my characters are noted as single and/or available in their OOC bios, they are romanceable even if they don't seem like it; it just might take as much time and effort as in real life. I generally prefer to let these things happen naturally following chemistry rather than force them, but am more likely to talk about and give it all a shot with OOC friends. I'm not interested in random ERP. QUALITY OVER QUANTITY I like to have fewer but stronger (and arguably overdeveloped) characters. They all take some time and effort to fully get to know — usually months, sometimes years. I gravitate towards themes of reality-isn't-pretty, good people making gray/tough decisions (often at the expense of themselves), and sappily enough, the power of friendship and/or love to help my characters claw out of their own self-inflicted ruts. Despite any appearances, all of my characters inevitably have a lot of psychological depth. I love that shit!

A talented aethetical healer with familial roots buried deep in Gridania and the Shroud, Aiba'a is a bookish, soft-hearted Keeper who lives alone in his family's former cabin due east of Bentbranch.A former longtime member of Gridania's Conjurer Guild, he was questionably ousted for unpublicized reasons, and now spends most of his days alone in Central Shroud: tending to his garden, minding the property, performing research, and harvesting and sketching wild flora.Or at least that's what he says he does. Behind closed doors and drawn curtains, Aiba researches the potential of magicks considered forbidden, putting himself at considerable risk for the sake of more than just curiosity. More than one Bentbranch hunter has mentioned seeing a Deepeye voidsent on the property.The only time Aiba'a sends away a guest at the door is when they inquire about the voidsent. Else, why not come in for tea?

* CHARACTER TRAITS
Bookish, scholarly, intelligent. A researcher and healer by nature, Aiba was raised a touch sheltered from the world, and is thus driven by curiosity as if to catch up on what he's missed, and deeply inspired by all kinds of nature and life.
Respectful, soft-spoken, friendly, good-natured. An all-around good boi, Aiba highly values family, love, and meaning, but his bleeding heart nature also gets him into trouble both in his studies and in the streets where his booksmarts render him a little daft and too-trusting.
Heavily driven to a fault. Spending most of his time distracted and devoted to some personal study or other, his own wellbeing often falls unknowingly to the wayside as a result, and that's not even getting into some of the more questionable things he studies. He is usually quite moral and ethical, but some ends do justify the means...
Private and unassuming. Aiba keeps to himself by default, not one to intrude or impose unnecessarily. His hobbies are all quite introverted—reading, botany, cooking, and so on—which doesn't help, either. If one reads between the lines, however, one might easily see the cracks of loneliness showing through.
* HOOKS
You hurt? Aiba's biggest talents are in aetherical healing, which he learned through the Conjurer's Guild. A bleeding heart, he is more or less willing to drop anything he is doing to help someone in need, regardless of circumstances.
Botanists and alchemists. Aiba studies botany as a personal hobby and is well-versed on gathering and making basic teas and potions. He's no alchemist, but he might know where to find a specific herb, especially around the Shroud.
New Gridania, the Shroud, Conjurer's Guild, Lancer's Guild. Aiba and his family are well-known and well-established in the Shroud and have been for decades. Unfortunately, he and his younger sister Taika seem to be the only ones left, and people with ties to the Conjurer's Guild (from which he was expelled) don't always have good things to say about him...
Darker research. Deep plunges into research on aether, the voidsent, and different ways to manipulate and utilize aether are within Aiba's day-to-day. Life, death, necromancy, and everything in-between strikes a personal interest when they come up. More than one "forbidden magicks" are within his current focus of study and experimentation, despite any potential risks. For such a nice guy, he sure has his nose in some questionable books...

There are two different Kleios. There is the modified Solution 9 vanguard sentry bot complete with overlaid hologram, K.L.E.I.O., or Kernel-level Exploitative Interchangeable Operative... and then there is Kleio, the operator remotely driving the bot from some unknown location, whose doofy social skills are a little more obvious when one realizes that she really did name the bot after herself and come up with a whole title for it.Thanks to a tight-lipped nature and many layers of encryption to ensure her privacy, details on the real Kleio are limited. The feminine (albeit flat) voice that speaks through the bot does not appear to be modified. It's a given she lives in Solution 9, as the sentry doesn't seem able to function remotely beyond the dome. She seems to have designed the technology and performed the modifications herself to the bot, and speaks with a frank expertise in technological subjects. Any more than that, though, she seems much more hesitant to admit ...

* CHARACTER TRAITS
Flat affect, but even-tempered and dry-humored. Kleio does not seem to be well-socialized. Her typical affect -- or her voice, anyway -- is flat and robotic, almost making her seem like she is the sentry she pilots around. If one listens well and looks between the lines, however, one can see glimpses of a patient, unflappable nature and dry humor, and some non-techy interests that speak to a subtle level of geekiness.
Pretty socially inept. Kleio is the metaphorical straight-man to every comedy routine. She occasionally doesn't seem to pick up on nuances of socialization like certain gestures or sarcasm, and is quick to correct or call out what she mistakenly perceives. Things like partying or drinking don't make sense to her in practice. All that said, she seems genuinely invested in observing and learning more, and genuinely remorseful when she learns she's accidentally been rude.
Big recluse with a big brain. Kleio refuses to give away much information about herself, and it's decently obvious her physical body doesn't get out much from wherever she lives in Solution 9. In the tech world she's absolutely brilliant, but in the physical world, she may as well be disconnected completely.
Piloted sentry omnitool. The vanguard sentry Kleio has obtained and heavily modified is designed to be extremely flexible with multiple parts that interchange on the spot: finger joints for screwdriver heads, arm panels for several gun muzzles, and so on. She might not be able to be there in person, but she'll be damned if her sentry isn't extremely valuable to have around instead.
* HOOKS
Solution 9 and techy types. Characters from or looking into Solution 9 and Alexandria may have had some connections with Kleio, such as a run-in with her hologram projection or sentry bot, or maybe an incident with a mainframe getting hacked by her and causing trouble. Characters with magitek prowess or experience might be of use to her for things like parts or information, as she sees value and use in magitek the more she learns about it beyond the dome.
Eorzeans with interesting lives. Kleio can be RPed beyond the dome in some capacity, and is doing a lot of observing people in Eorzea through use of small monitoring devices she's made. Observing something curious enough might prompt her to strike up conversation and ask why.

Simultaneously well-meaning and good-natured but also boorish and self-destructive, Torrjm is an extremely complex Rava with far more going on beneath the surface than all her swagger, temper and moxie implies.

→ VIEW BIO A softhearted Keeper with strong roots in the Shroud, Aiba'a is a powerful aetherical healer and a researcher by trade whose bleeding heart nature and quest for knowledge often gets him into trouble. Questionably ousted from the Conjurer's Guild for dabbling in forbidden magicks, to Aiba'a, sometimes the ends have to justify the means.

Why she chooses to pilot a modified sentry remotely instead of stepping out into the world herself, who knows?
